Building Trust, Byte by Byte

Building Trust, Byte by Byte

Trust is our foundation. Drawing on Algolia, Front, and Sorare experience, we build a data platform where security comes standard.

Trust is the cornerstone of everything we do at Altertable. In the world of data and analytics, it's not just a value — it's a requirement. We're building a new kind of data platform, and that demands a new level of commitment to reliability, compliance, and security from day one.

Our founding team has seen what it takes. At Algolia, we supported over 10,000 paying customers across industries with exacting uptime and security standards. At Front and Sorare, we helped scale platforms to millions of users, navigating regulations, audits, and the unforgiving scrutiny that comes with growth. We've lived the tension between product velocity and compliance — and we've learned that the best way to move fast is to build it right the first time.

Security and reliability aren't afterthoughts. They're part of our foundation.

That's why we're embedding SOC 2 practices into our DNA. We're working with Vanta to implement the right controls, train our team, and monitor everything from laptop compliance to incident response. What once felt like bureaucratic overhead now makes perfect sense — because behind every requirement is a reason, and behind every control is a commitment to the people who trust us with their data.

We're not just checking boxes. We're applying years of operational learning to make compliance second nature. Our infrastructure is fully managed as code—Terraform, Helm, CI/CD with GitHub approvals and branch protections. We use Dependabot to stay ahead of vulnerabilities, Semgrep for static analysis, and quality linters like Rubocop, ESLint, and Clippy to maintain code excellence. Sentry handles exception monitoring, Intercom powers our support, Diagram documents our architecture, and Zinc ensures thorough background checks. Every detail contributes to a tighter, safer system.

These operational practices directly shape how we've built our platform. See how these principles influence our technical architecture.

Trust is built over time, but it starts with intent. We believe every customer deserves a platform they can count on: secure, transparent, and proactive. That's what we're building.

If your data deserves better, we should talk.

Upside-Down Architecture

Architecture, Engineering

Most analytics queries scan less than 100MB, yet traditional architectures still assume compute must live in a remote warehouse. We explore a hybrid model where compute moves between our servers and your local machine, powered by DuckDB and open table formats.
