# Query product data with SQL

Use SQL when you need a custom analysis or want to join product behavior with another catalog. Use the [identity-resolved views](/docs/product-analytics/data-model.md) for analysis that should apply identity mappings.

## Inspect available data

Before writing a query, inspect the table schema in [SQL Explorer](/docs/lakehouse/query/sql-explorer.md) or ask your agent to describe it. Start with a bounded query:

```sql
SELECT * FROM product_analytics.analytics.events LIMIT 10;
```

Use `product_analytics.main.events` when you need the raw records received by the tracking endpoint. Choose the view based on whether you want raw or identity-resolved data.

## Analyze with an agent

```text
Analyze signup conversion over the last month. Where do users drop off?
```

For visual analyses, use [segmentation](/docs/product-analytics/segmentation.md), [funnels](/docs/product-analytics/funnel.md), or [retention](/docs/product-analytics/retention.md). For an interactive application, [build a data app](/docs/data-apps/build.md).
