# S3 Tables

[Amazon S3 Tables](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/userguide/s3-tables.html) provides an Iceberg-backed table bucket managed by AWS.

Connect S3 Tables to Altertable when your Iceberg tables live in an S3 table bucket and should be queryable from the Altertable lakehouse.

## Connect S3 Tables

1. Open **Catalogs** in the Altertable app.
2. Click **New catalog**.
3. Select **S3 Tables**.
4. Enter the table bucket ARN, region, access key ID, and secret access key.
5. Save the catalog.
6. Query the exposed tables with SQL.

Use least-privilege AWS credentials that grant Altertable only the table bucket access it needs.
