# Metrics

Altertable does not support OpenTelemetry metrics ingestion yet.

For now, use the built-in `opentelemetry` catalog for:

- **[Logs](/docs/ingest-data/opentelemetry/logs.md)**: log records with severity, body, trace IDs, span IDs, and attributes.
- **[Traces](/docs/ingest-data/opentelemetry/traces.md)**: spans with service, timing, status, attributes, events, and links.
